Candy Recipe Search...

Hello Family & Friends,
Ellie asked me this evening if we could make Christmas candies because her friends are making them with their moms. Well, this puts me on the spot because I don't bake goodies, EVER. So, this is where you all come in. If you visit my blog, and you have some extra time, would you be willing to give me your favorite Christmas candy recipe? I thank you in advance, and so does Ellie. And, I promise that if you leave the recipe we will give it a try, and Ellie will take some to school for her class to try... :) Thanks much.

  1. Here is my very favorite CHristmas candy recipe in the world. I LOVE CARAMEL!!!
    Christmas caramels
    1 c. butter
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
1 14oz. can of sweet and condensed milk
    dash of salt
combine, cook on medium heat, stir continuously with wooden spoon, keep stirring until it reaches a rolling boil. Once it starts boiling, keep stirring and have someone put a few ice cubes and some water in a small bowl. Spoon a little of the concoction into the bowl and if it forms a soft ball, then it's done. Pour into a buttered pan (I forgot what size, but not too big) and stick it in the fridge.
    They're deliscious!!

  4. Well, I don't have a ton of "Candy" recipes, but I love fudge. I use the Jet puffed marshmallow creme and there's a recipe on the side. But instead of the bakers chocolate, Shelise was saying that it's WAY better to use semisweet chocolate chips instead. So you'll have to give that a try. I'll be making it in a couple days and that's how I'm gonna do it. The other way it good, but I guess the chocolate chips are just BETTER :) Good luck. Great post. I'm gonna have to get these recipes.

  5. Try the fudge tara was telling you about. Its on the side of the jet puff marshmallow cream jar. Be sure to use semi-sweet choc. chips though. And if you can get a candy thermometer they usually turn out better because it has to boil longer to get to 134 degrees (longer than the 4 minutes it says to boil if you dont have a candy thermometer) Sorry im SO confusing. If you have any question about making them call me at 702 883 2286

  6. Just in case you do make the fudge, its 234 degrees NOT 134 degrees. I wrote the wrong temp.

  7. I love cinnamon rolls, but they are a project. My favorite holiday one to do with the kids that they can do by themselves is just the pretzel sticks dipped in white chocolate. The girls love doing their own.
They each get a glass mug. Put white chocolate chips 1/2 full. Microwave for 30 seconds, stir , 15 seconds, stir, maybe 10 more seconds. Just stop when it is melted (if you cook it to long it will go hard again, then you have to wait for it to cool) Then they roll their pretzels around, set it on wax paper and put sprinkles on top. You can put them in the freezer to cool. They are quick , easy and not to messy. My girls love doing pretzels.

  8. I use the easiest Fudge recipe in the world. I think it's the same basic recipe that Taralee & Shelise use. But I do it in the microwave. Easy and fast. It doesn't get much better than that!
Here is how I do mine:

    Fantasy Fudge
    ¾ C. (1 ½ cube) margarine or butter
    3 C. sugar
    2/3 C. canned milk
    1 Pkg. (12 oz.) semi-sweet choc. Chips
1 Jar (7 oz.) marshmallow crème
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 C. chopped walnuts (optional)

Microwave margarine 1 min. or until melted in a 4 quart microwaveable bowl. Add sugar and milk, mix well.
Microwave on high for 5 minutes, stirring after 3 min. Mix well, scrape bowl. Microwave on high for 5½ minutes more, stirring after 3 minutes.
Stir in chocolate chips until melted. Add marshmallow crème and mix well. Stir in nuts if desired and pour into 13 x 9 prepared pan. Cool at room temperature, cut into squares.
