Great to be 8
Jake recently turned 8, and so of course I had to spiff him up and take him out for some pictures. He is such a handsome little guy, and it is so easy to take good pictures of him. I love how his smile speaks volumes about his personality. love you buddy, and love the decision you have made to be baptised.

Family Togetherness
We took the kids to see this movie in 3D today. It was a pretty good movie, the kids seemed to like it more than Ray and I did. The 3D movies tend to give me an upset stomach and leave me feeling a bit light headed (must be that I am getting old). We ate lunch at Sam's Club, stopped by Macy's to get some Sword Shark Steaks, and some whole wheat, grabbed a couple of pizzas from Papa Murphy's for dinner tomorrow, and then headed home. Love being with my family even when Jake and his dad are butting heads, and driving me a tad crazy.
Love My Life most All Of The Time..... :)
Updated by Dates
I updated my blog, but I added them by the dates they occurred. If you have any desire to back track, you can find new posts in the beginning of April and maybe some in March as well. Thanks!!!

Blessings from Heaven
On Thursday, April 19th, Jake was outside playing with friends and riding his bike. His chain had fallen off, and I told him since soccer games were starting at the park and the roads were getting crazy that he should just put the bike away and play on the tramp. Well a little while later our neighbor came over and said that Jake had been hit by a car (Jake had taken his bike and parked it, and then got Ellie's bike out to ride). When I looked out all I could see is a mangled bike and a shoe in the road. I yelled for Elena to wake dad and tell him Jake had been hit by a car and I took off running over to find my boy. He was on the side of the road crying. He told me that he was riding around the neighbors truck which was blocking the sidewalk, and saw this car about to hit him but he could not get out of the road, and that she did not see him and she hit him. She hit him so hard it tossed him into the air (probably about 6 or so feet) knocked his shoe off of him, which I'm told flew even higher in the air, and her car went up over the bike. Our neighbor told us they think she was probably going at least 30 miles an hour (in a 25mph zone). Ray and I quickly scooped up Jake and took him to the Emergency Room in Brigham City where they did some Ex-Rays and checked him over pretty good. We were told that he had NO broken bones, and no major damage but just small scrapes and bruises on his body. The doctor told us that our boy was pretty dang lucky that he was not injured more. Jake told the ER nurse that he thinks his grandma's were "pretecting" him from Heaven. I am so thankful that he was not hurt worse. I am feeling pretty blessed to have my boy up and walking and doing so well. I think sometimes we take life for granted by getting caught up in the simple little daily tasks that leave us feeling frustrated or overwhelmed. I think from now on I am going to hug my boy tighter and kiss him longer, and forget about the little things that can get annoying. Jake was so cute while he was laying in the hospital bed in the ER he looked up at the nurse, and in this timid little voice said "has anyone ever died in this bed?" the Nurse replied nope I don't think so, and my boy then relied "oh good". Guess he realized right then he would live. :) I imagine that Jake's Grandmas will spend lots of time "pretecting" him from heaven during his life, he is ALL boy, and loves danger. We have been blessed with many phone calls wishing him well, several people have left him balloons, Popsicles, cookies, and his school class made him a bunch of get better cards. It sure has made him feel pretty special and extra loved.

Nothin' but Horse Play I tell ya!
Elena and Jake were goofing off a while back and this is what I caught them doing. She thought it would be pretty funny to put Jake in one of her shirts that looked like a dress on him, and then put her black boots on him, and put some ponnies in his hair. He thought it was pretty funny.
She then preceded to put one of his outfits on. I think she had to jump off the bed to get his basketball shorts to fit her. They almost looked like they were painted on her.
She then gave him some flowers and asked him if he would marry her. (he said no) You notice how fast he took out the ponnies. I almost didnt have time to take a few pictures

Happy Easter
We had a fun Easter. It was quiet and at home, but none the less it was enjoyable. We went to church as a family, and then when we got home I had the kids come in to the living room to see what was left in their baskets. Jake got an outfit, toy, and candy. Ellie got a shirt (cost as much as Jake's entire outfit), perfume, and candy. Elena got perfume, and candy. She had more fun hiding eggs outside than anything else. She had told me a few days earlier that she was too big to celebrate Easter so I think she was surprised to see what she got. I sent the kids out to search for eggs that Elena had hid, and then we came in and enjoyed a nice Sunday dinner together. After dinner we watched an Easter show together and enjoyed the rest of the day as a family. :)

Spring Break- Day 4
We didn't really do much on Day 4. Most everyone was off celebrating their Easter, and since Dad was asleep because he had to work, and we could not travel out of town to see family because it was our turn to clean the church we decided to just have fun at home on the tramp, play some fun board games, and watch some movies in the front room, and do a picnic. The kids had fun but wish they could have gone to Southern Utah to see their cousins.
We were the only family to show up out of 6 families assigned to clean the church. The kids and I felt a bit overwhelmed at first, but had a great time doing a service the day before Easter, and the kids felt very proud to have been the ones to clean the building for Easter Sunday.
Getting geared up to do some cleaning. They each chose a job, and they did it well. As we were just about done with the church (all we had left to do is to clean the boys bath room, and then mop the bathroom floors and kitchen floor, one of the families that were supposed to help out showed up to play basketball and asked if they were supposed to be there cleaning. I told them I believed they were and so they helped us finish up the yucky parts and then we headed home. I sure was proud of my kids for not complaining at all that we were stuck doing it alone. I sure do have good kids!!!

Spring Break- Day 3
Day 3 of our Spring Break we headed to Ogden with my good friend Amie and her 3 girls to have some fun. We ate lunch at the Olive Garden (yummo) and then headed to do some shopping with the kids before heading to the movie.
Missing from the picture is of course myself, Amie, and her two girls Lexi and Bressa. I'm not sure why they chose not to be in the picture. ?????
Ellie and Elena were rein acting the scene from Lady and the Tramp. LOL
These two girls sure do act goofy sometimes. :)
I wasn't too sure if I would like this movie or not, but it turned out to be a pretty good show. I was very pleasantly surprised with how much I really like the movie. I give it 2 thumbs up! haha

Spring Break-Day 2
After we got our chores done we headed back to Logan. We made it just in time to make it to the movie. We watched The LORAX and the kids both loved it (mom loved it as well). Elena did not want to go to the movie with us, so she walked across the street to the Mall where she shopped while we were enjoying our movie. It is such a cute movie and I want to get it when it comes out!
Next stop was the Fun Park. They have bowling, laser tag, arcade games, roller skating, and the fun park. Ellie and Jake decided they wanted to just play at the fun park so I got them their wrist bands and found a comfy chair while they played to their hearts content.
After the Fun Park we headed to do a bit of shopping, then we headed to Sam's Club for Hot Dogs. It was a fun Day 2 of our Spring Break!

Spring Break- Day 1
To start our Spring Break off we headed to Logan where we played at USU for a bit, had a picnic and then went to the movie Mirror Mirror. Good show, and good memories. :)
Played at the University for a while. Love all the beautiful flowers that are starting to bloom. Such a fun school to walk around, and explore...
Can you say CHEESE! She was in such a picture mood, but the camera kept glaring up on her. Not sure why, but it made taking pictures hard.
| Sometimes you just get lucky and pictures turn out right. Wish it happened more often when I am in the mood to do pictures of my kids. Now that would be nice! |
Such a good movie, Ellie loved it. She hopes she gets it for her birthday.

Our New Tramp
Ray and I decided over the winter that it was time to replace the trampoline that was broken in the back yard. So at the end of March I headed to Sams Club with Ellie and picked up a new tramp.
Jake loves to strike poses while jumping on the tramp. He makes me laugh he will say mom watch me jump, and then spends most of his time trying to strike the perfect pose while in the air!

| I love to see these three getting along as well as they do. Elena acts just like a big sister to my two kids and gives as much as she takes most always. My kids are going to miss her when she leaves. |
Elena has loved the new tramp as much as the kids have. She spends so much time outside trying to master front flips and back flips. I made her do the tongue test to see if she was capable of operating a wheelchair before I let her work on her back flips though. LOL
Ellie and Jake love our new tramp, and I am glad I let their dad talk me into replacing the broken one. I guess he did know what he was talking about after all. ;)
