Happy Halloween

Jake was Buzz for Halloween, and he was the cutest little buzz anyone ever saw. He would go up to the door, say trick-or-treat please, (I give you candy...) Quite cute but you may have had to be there to hear the cute way he said it.

Ellie was a little black scaredy cat as she called herself. She told Jake as we were walking out the door, (just do what I do, cause I am a pro at getting lots and lots of candy. :)

Hear is a picture of the kids standing on our front porch while I took one last quick picture of them before we headed out into our small little neighborhood. However they did end up feeling their buckets clear to the very top with candy.

Sidewalk Chalk Art

I sent the kids outside today to explore their artistic side while I mopped the floor. When I checked on them I found that Ellie was being a very good big sister by teaching Jake how to draw one of his favorite characters (Spongebog). Jake was very happy when his sissy finished the picture and it did look just like spongebob (it did, it did). :)

A Picture of Uncle Chad

Ellie came home the other day, and told me she had a picture to send to Uncle Chad. She had to make sure I knew that she had drawn the picture, that it wasn't from someones camera, even though it looked just like Chad right down to his shinny bald head. ha ha The task at school was to draw a picture of something or someone you seen over the weekend, and we just happened to see Chad at Whitney's soccer game. Anyway I just thought it was hilarious that she thinks it looks just like him. :)

Almost Christmas...

I was telling Ellie yesterday that as soon as her Happy Halloween was over then it would be time to start thinking about where we would be putting our tree this year, and what day would be a good day to put up lights outside before it gets to cold and snowy. I then told her I needed to start pulling out my Christmas music, and starting my Christmas letter so I wouldn't be behind. And she said, well mom you don't want to look like a strange mom by putting our Santa music on before It's Christmas time. I assured her I would not do it until at least November 1st. And she seemed fine with this. And then it happened, I read Annie's Blog and read that she was already listening to the good music, so I read her post to Ellie. She looked at me shrugged her shoulders, scratched the corner of her eye and then said . (Well, I guess strange moms go along in this family. I'm glad I'm not a mom) So Annie, thanks for being strange with me. Ya gotta love strange. ha ha

Cowntdown to HALLOWEEN

Elllie has been so excited for Halloween this year, because I told her she could go to the Pumpkin Walk at her School. Last year Jake was not feeling well, so we stayed home. But, this year I have been asked to make the sign for her class and pitch in as one of the room moms, so this means we will attend. She wakes up every morning with a happy 12 days left, 9 days left, and this morning she got up and happily announced 7 days left. Well, I am not much of a Halloween lover, so this countdown is not a happy one for me. I hate the masks that are worn, any mask that is worn to be honest. But most of all I hate the stupid clown costumes with masks or painted faces. I hate the masks that grown adults think they need to wear. It freaks me right out, and makes for a stressful night when I have to walk out with my kids and take the chance of seeing one of these ugly things. So anyway this morning when Ellie announced to me that there was only 7 days left, I told her that I was thinking maybe I would let her and her brother wear the costumes to dinner and then to a movie and skip the Trick-or-Treat part of Halloween. She was not happy with me for this idea, and so I guess it's back to the door to door running into idiots routine for us. ha ha ha :)

Two Sad Funerals~

I know it has been a while since I left anything on my blog. Jake had his surgery on the 11th as you all know, and is now healed and feeling 100% better. I am so happy. He had been feeling pretty yucky, and I was feeling like a pretty crappy mom. Then on the 14th my sister Melanie called me to let me know that her best friend Melanie had passed away from cancer and she had been asked to speak at her funeral, which I knew I wanted to be there not only to show my respects to Melanie Snyder, but to give my own sister some much needed support as she bid farewell to a very dear friend. Then on Wednesday, we recived several phone calls letting us know that Rays best Friends 18 year old son had hung himself, also on Sunday. That meant two funerals back to back. (did I mention I hate funerals?) So, on Friday morning we headed to Draper, Ut for Jordans funeral. I did pretty well until his poor dad got up to speak and then I lost it, and cried pretty hard. I can not imagine how hard it would be, as a parent to lose a child. I don't think I could do it. Anyway from there we went and watched Whitney in her soccer game, and then it was off to Fayette, Ut for another funeral. Saturday morning we went to Melanie's funeral where again I cried my eyes out, but for another reason. Here was a mother who wanted so badly to live, just to raise her children. I could not imagine this either, being a mom, and knowing that you were not going to be there for those special occasions ever again. It left me wondering why Jordan and Melanie could not have just traded places. All though I know it was not possible, it would have been nice I'm sure. Here we had a young man who had no desire to live another day upon this earth, and after several attempts was finally able to take his own life. Then we had a young mother of 4, who held on to life as long as she could, until the day her Father in Heaven called her home. Both situations left me thanking my Heavenly Father for the gifs, and life I had been given, and for my health. Anyway, I didn't mean to use this blog to be sad for a moment, but am glad to get it off my chest. :)

Jake before and after Surgery.

These first two pictures are of Jake at the hospital right after they gave him what I have decided to call goofy medicine. It made him quite silly. Anything you said to him he would find just funny, and when two of the O.R. nurses came in to meet him before the surgery he started
flirting with one of them.

These last two pictures of Jake are of him after surgery. The nurses wanted him to sleep a few hours and be able to drink a cup of liquid before we could take him home. He usually wakes up pretty mean and unhappy after surgery, but this time he did what he was supposed to do. He slept for a few hours drank his juice, and then said he wanted to go home. What a good little boy I have. However, he was a bit annoyed that they took off his cars pajamas and cars slippers. (how dare they do that) :0

It's not even been a week since Jake had surgery, and I am all ready seeing a huge difference in his sleep pattern, and daytime attitude. I feel bad that I didn't insist that our doctor do something about it sooner, but it is taken care of now, and life for Jake is good. FINALLY!

Do As I'm Doing..

Ellie was trying to teach Jake a couple of dance moves she made up, and when he couldn't catch on she just shook her head and told him he must have two wrong feet. I told her it's called two left feet, and she told me they were not doing it right so they were wrong. :)

Look, SNOW on our Mountain

This is what our mountain looked like the other day after it snowed. We even ended up with a skiff on the ground at our house. It was very pretty especially with the red autamn leaves below the snow. Ellie begged us to take them up to the top of the mountain so her and her brother could make a snowman. We assured her that in a month or so she could make several on our front lawn. She is hoping that she will be able to make a snowman and dress him up for halloween. (that may be too much snow a little to soon for my liking.) :)

Hello, Hello, can you hear me?

Big smile for mommy while talking to McQueen.

Hollering to sissy, (PHONES for you) it's Queen.

Jake loves talking on his Lightning McQueen phone. He will say over and over again (hello, hello, can you here me? KACHOW.... He is a lover of anything to do with CARS. (my only hope is that he outgrows this love before the stores outgrow their love). :}

BEST BUDDIES

Best of Buddies, Best of Friends. These two are most content when in each others company. They may annoy each other once in a while, but for the most part they are happiest together. How happy I am that they get along so well. :)

It was Raining, now it's SNOWING...

When we went to bed last night it was raining quite hard and the kids were a little bumbed cause that meant no bike ride this morning. But, when we woke up this morning to find that it was snowing, both frowns turned into big huge smiles. Jake was all for heading out in the cold and trying to catch snow flakes on his tongue. And, he wasn't about to let a little wet snow stop him from playing on his trike.

~Jake Going To School~

These first two pictures of Jake are of his very first day of school which just happened to be the day after he turned 3. I think he was pretty excited about going on the bus, me on the other hand, I was a very teary eyed momma. I look at these pictures and am amazed that he looks so much older just six months later. It is so amazing yet really quite sad how fast kids grow up. I often catch myself wishing that both kids could stay the age they are today.

These next two pictures are of Jake this year in school. He looks like such a big boy even though he is still only 3.

Jake absolutely loves school. He loves the bus ride to school where they sing songs. He loves being at school and learning, playing with his friends, and especially snack time. :) He loves talking about the things he learnedat school, from shapes to numbers, to songs. I am very glad he enjoys school as much as he does, because it would make it very difficult if he cried everytime he had to get on the bus and go to school.

Ellie is to, to funny...

K, I am up cause my boy is up so I thought I would tell a funny real quick. Ellie was doing something a bit knotty, and I watched her do it. Well I then came into where her and Jake were playing and asked her if she had done what I had watched her do. She assured me she had not, and I said (remember young lady I have eyes on the back of my head, and I can see everything you and your brother do). Well a little while later I was sitting in the rocker rockin' Jake and she came over and started to rub the back of my head, and then pulled my head forward and made this rather annoyed grumbling sound and then said MOM, you do not have eyes on the back of your head... I said ya I do, and she said WELL, I can't feel them anywhere... I told her, well I put them to bed cause they were tired, and she said OOHHHH, and then left it at that... :)

Ellies turn for Pictures

Hi all, today after school Ellie asked me if I would take some pictures of her to put on this page like I did for Jake a while back. Of course I said yes, since I jump at the chance to take pictures of the kids. I thought they turned out pretty cute, Ellie on the other hand thinks she needs to join a beauty contest, (she is sure she would win) :) She has already decided on the picture she wants to have hanging on the wall. (It's the close up one of her, this one is her very favorite).

My plan is to start puting picutes on more often of the kids, (even if they have dirty faces). :)
