Transition Meetings Over

So, the transition meeting didn't go as well as I was hoping, but it didn't go as bad as I was expecting either. I do know now that I really do not have much like in my heart for Jake's Preschool teacher, or the outgoing Elementary Principal (I really hope the new Principal will be more child oriented). I was able to find out who Jake's Teacher will be this next year and really like the lady. I think the plan will be to take one week at a time. I have looked into some private schools, and may look at some homeschooling books as well. I wish that Ellie's Kindergarten teacher were still at our school, if so I would not be dreading this next year as much as I am.
K, enough complaining, I got me some dishes to get to. (blah, blah, blah)

Transition Meeting

Today is Jake's transition meeting at the elementary school. I am very nervous to go, but will be making the trek alone being that my dear sweet husband is sick, and they don't want Jake to be there. I guess it is time for be to buck up and be the mom. (be brave, think tough,)
More to come when I get back.

Friday Trip to Soda Springs

On Friday as soon as Ellie got home from school, we headed up to Soda Springs to see the Geyser, and to check out the Hot Springs camp grounds. We have decided that this summer we want to do a lot of camping. The kids seemed to enjoy it so much last summer, and since we can do weekdays as well as weekends because of Rays work schedule, we decided we should find lots and lots of different places to do our family camp outs. So with this being said we made out first stop at Downy Idaho where we checked out the Down-ata- Hot Springs campground that had several pools and water slides. We then headed over to see this monument that told us a little about Lake Bonneville. There were maybe 100 stairs that took us up to the top of the monument, and the kids thought it was cool to climb that high. Next we stopped in at Lava Hot Springs where again we found several fun campgrounds with pools and water slides. The one pool here is just finishing building several water slides that look like they will be lots of fun. We counted 7 diving boards, and I think 8 water slides. The kids then climbed on this bull for some fun pictures. Doesn't Ellie make such a cute Bull Riding Chic?Jake had fun taking pictures on this big Bull as well. At first he was a bit nervous but quickly realized that it wasn't scary at all.We then made it to Soda Springs and found the Geyser. When we had stopped by the Subway for dinner, the girl told us that the geyser went off every hour on the hour so we had just enough time to head over and walk around before the water shot in the air. The sulfur smell was not one of the kids favorite smells, but they soon realized it smelled a lot like the Hot Pots. And then finally it happened, the Geyser shot quite high in the air, and the kids thought that it was the coolest thing ever. As you can see in the picture below, Ellie was cheering and jumping in the air. (silly girl)After the geyser settled down we headed up the canyon to find another lake and campground that the kids think might be fun to camp at this summer. The kids are excited that we will be going to Yellowstone this summer once they realized that it was full of geysers like this one.

Jake's turn...

Today was Jake's turn to do pictures, and he wasn't as in the mood to do them as he was yesterday so we didn't take as long with his pictures as we did with Ellie's yesterday. I just hope that when we do the one's outside he will cooperate more. (Maybe I will have to do his first.)

Ellie

Today, I threw out a sheet and had some fun taking pictures of Ellie. She had a great time of it, and it made her so happy to get her pictures done. I want to do it again with her outside once it warms up a bit more, but until then the living room will have to do. Jake's turn is next.
