Carolyn left a comment in my last post about Ray almost killing himself, and Courtney asked me to explain so here goes... We bought some lumber for our basement quite awhile back, and Ray carried it into the house and left it in the walk way (cause it's his house and he will put it wherever he wants to put it, being that it is HIS house, cause he isn't going to have anyone telling him where he can or cannot put his lumber....) haha Well later that night he woke up and headed downstairs, started walking into the kitchen and tripped over the pile of two by fours. Well he fell hard, but tried to catch his fall with his forearm, resulting in him hitting both his head and arm hard on the counter top. He then fell to the floor. Well, all I heard was this big huge thud sound. I yelled down to him and asked him if he was OK, and he yelled back that he was fine and to go back to bed. Well a minute later I hear another thud, and I yelled again, and he said he was fine. Well the next morning when I woke up I found that my husband had a huge wound on his head. I yelled at him for saying that he was fine. He went on to tell me that had he said he was hurt I would have wanted him to go to the ER. He is correct in the fact that I would have wanted him to go see a Dr. But anyway, he was a pretty sore boy for quite a while, and I babied him until he was better. Then after he was healed from this, he was down in the basement building a wall, and had some wood up at the top of this newly made wall that was standing but not nailed into place, when Jake came into the room and bumped the wall. Well, Ray tried to protect his boy from getting hurt, but by doing so he ended up with the wood falling on his poor head leaving a huge wound on his head. Needless to say he put of doing anymore work on the basement until just recently. So, lets hope this project he has started up again gets finished without anymore injuries to Ray or the kids.

Holy cow!!! Good thing he did not get too seriously hurt....and what a good dad for protecting his little boy. Thanks for the explaination, and maybe in order for Ray to remain alive he should hire out the work :) Just kidding!!
ReplyDeleteOuch!! Poor Ray- I'm glad he is healed, BUT I don't think I would let him be around anymore wood. Good Luck with your basement. We will pray for Ray. haha
