On Sunday the ninth we also visited Fort Pierce. It is a fort that the pioneers built near a stream to keep the Indians from the waters during the Black Hawk War of the 1860's. Tracey ended up leaving before Fort Pierce, but the rest of us were able to go and check it out. Below are some pictures of the Old Fort, the kids hiding out in a cave, Grandma going on a walk with Jake and Traycen, Papa and the boys checking out some names on an old rock from the 1860's.
