Hill Air Force Museum

We took the kids to the Hill Air Force Museum the other day, and they absolutely loved it. While we were walking around to see the the planes, Ellie asked Ray and I if we had been their before and we told her we had, and she said oh you have been here and you have never taken me and Jake to see this great place? Here is a couple of pictures of Ray lifting the kids up so that they could see inside a fighter plane. This is Air Force One. Well at least one of them. This one was used at the time President Johnson was in office. His wife actually used it more than he did. The kids thought it was cool to see a US Presidents Plane. Jake absolutely loved the small models that were down low, and that he could look at. Ellie liked this plane. I think the main reason for this was that it said LOVE on it!They had a children's learning center located in one of the buildings, and we stopped by just as they were closing, Jake just started crying and throwing this fit, and the young guy who works there said (how about if we lock the doors and let you two play for a minute while we close down the computers?). He ended up turning two of the computers back on so that the kids could try flying. Both actually did pretty good at the flight simulations. The guy seemed to be impressed. Ellie liked climbing into one of the simulators that was there, and Jake liked dressing up in a flight suit. The kids had lots of fun, and Ray and I decided it is somewhere we will go again soon.. It is free, air conditioned, and a great place for both parent and kid to learn and have fun. What more could I ask for?
