Praying Snowman

As most of you know, Ray and I helped Jake build his first snowman. Well in the last couple of days we have noticed that he has slowly been leaning over, more and more. Well yesterday when Ray came home from work he said it looked like our snowman was on his knees praying, and told me to get a few pictures of it before it fell over. Well, while I was out there snapping some shots I had a gal and her husband pull over and ask if I minded if they took a picture of my praying snowman. And since then I have had one a teenage boy, and some older guy knock on my door asking if they could take pictures of my praying snowman. We have also had alot of slow drive by's with onlookers. Ellie says he is praying for it to stay freezing, so that he wont melt. I don't know, MAYBE??? :)

Three Shades of Red...

Yesterday I went shopping in Ogden with my kids, and let me just say by the time we were done and ready to come home I had experienced three shades of red on my face on several different occasions. (kids- they say the darnedest things, and usually at totally the wrong time).
READ ON, and you will understand what I mean.

ELLIE
We were at Dalhes picking up some work pants for Ray, and let me just say that the kids and I were the youngest ones in the store by probably 25 or more years. Well this older lady walked by, and then stopped at a wrack of clothes we were standing by. Ellie in her Ellie way took this big sniff in and then did it again several times and then said really loud Mom, I can smell old in this store. I said that's nice Ellie now SHHHSH. Then she took another big sniff in and said, mom I can smell something that smells really old in this store. I felt my face turn so red and the older lady standing next to us just smiled and walked away. (you know the smell that comes with old age?) I was so embarrassed...

K, now we have left Dalhes, and are now at Wal-Mart. And I am picking up a few things that we need for the week, and we head over to get chips. Well, there is this gal there stocking the chips. (I assume she was an employee of Frito Lay) Anyway she was dressed in this really tight outfit. Black Leather Pants, and a really tight top. The shirt is unbuttoned half way and she has a black lace bra on. Well you could tell just by looking that this gal had probably had a surgery to enlarge her assets. Well as we were walking past she bent over, and Ellie quite loudly said mom her boobs are about to fall right out of her shirt. (Oh my heavens, hear comes the red face again) The girl leans up real quick with an embarrassed look on her face and adjusts herself. I quickly say Ellie you need to say your sorry to her, that was not nice. Ellie says (Sorry) (in that tone that lets you know she is saying it just cause I am making her) and the gal says oh that's OK. Well we get past her pick up our chips and start heading back toward her to leave, and I tell Ellie you need to say your sorry and you need to act like you mean it. So we walk past and Ellie says I am sorry I said your boobs were falling out of your shirt, but they were. (I just quickly walked away)
JAKE
We are now at the other end of Wal-Mart, and I am picking up a new shower nozzle. And I run into a Sister from our ward in Brigham City. Her and I are talking and enjoying the moment when her husband rounds the corner, and comes over and joins the conversation. Jake looks up at him and then really loudly says, BOOGER, BOOGER his nose mom. (and here comes that feeling you get when your face is turning red yet again) The guy says oh thanks bud, turns around to fix his nose and then turns back around and says nope it wasn't a booger it was just an old man hair, and then Jake yells YA TOO A BOOGER, YOU GOT A BOOGER YOU NOSE. I just covered Jake's mouth, and said I am sooo SORRY. He just laughed and said it;s fine he is just a little boy. I was so humiliated.
Needless to say, I was really very ready for our shopping excursions to come to an end. I am not sure my face could have handled turning Red one more time. Please, please someone tell me my kids aren't the only ones who make loud comments in public.

The Totaled Car...

My dad was in a car accident last night. Here are some pictures of his car. They think he may have swerved into a tow truck that was hauling a car, though we don't know why. It happened around 8 pm by Brentwood as he was coming home from St. George. My brother Chad was on call so he took care of him en-route to the hospital . The miracle of it all is that my mom was supposed to be with him and she had stayed home because she didn't feel good! She must have something important to do here on the earth for her life to be spared as many times as it has in the last couple of months. My dad had some x-rays taken to make sure he was OK, and then they decided to keep him overnight. I think someone is definitely looking out for my parents! Between there multiple hospital visits in the past six months, and now this, I just have to thank my Heavenly Father for the time we have with them here on Earth. The damage to the car was all caused by the accident.

Oh My...

When we woke up the other morning we were surprised. Mother Nature had given us more than a whopping foot of snow. My kids were so dang excited. They could hardly contain themselves. As for Ray and I, we knew we had a job ahead of us. Shoveling sidewalks, and the driveway were quite the chore. Our town has a law that sidewalks must be cleared of snow at all times, and no vehicles may be parked on the side of the road during stormy times. I am beginning to think that Ray and I are the only ones on our street to take this law serious. The car in the picture below was ticketed while I was taking this picture. It is a $100 fine for cars left on the road, and a $50 fine if they notice your sidewalk is impassable. Crazy, crazy, crazy!!

Jake thought it was pretty funny that the snow came right up to his bottom. This is the snowman that we made yesterday with Jake while Ellie was at school. The face looks pretty crazy I know, but I read on this online page that food coloring works great for making the face, and buttons in the snow. Well, I tried it and it worked perfect at first but then an hour later this was how our handsome frosty looked. DARN IT....
Jake would not let us put sticks in for arms. He insisted that it was going to make frosty cry. So here we have an armless frosty. But, Ray says he just looks like he has his arms folded.

Cozy, and Warm..

Here are some pictures of my kids, all bundled up and settled in for a movie after playing in the snow, and helping daddy shovel the sidewalks and driveway. Ellie wants me to make sure you all know that she is still willing to share some of our snow up here if you are in need. We have plenty to give. : )

Primary Pajama Party

We had our first Primary Party of the year yesterday. We met at the Church for breakfast in our pj's. It was fun to see all the fun pj's the kids had on, and it gave the teachers a chance to get to know their classes.
The two pictures above are of my new CTR 6 class. I have 9 kids in my class, 7 of which are very active. This class will be a fun class. They are sweet kids, and I all ready love them.
Above, Jake already fits in with the rambunctious kids. He didn't eat much, but instead was off and running playing tag with the older boys. (can you believe my boy is a Sunbeam?)
Here is a picture of Ellie with her class. She has two very wonderful teachers, Sister Hill, and Sister Tomlinson. Jake however thought he was big enough to be in Sissy's class, and spent what quiet time he had at the CTR 7 table along with his class mates Naomi Tomlinson, and Jeffrey Hill. Jake's Sunbeam class has 11 kids in it this year, and I find myself feeling thankful that I was moved from Sunbeams to CTR 6. : )

Having Some Fun.

Ellie and Jake woke up this morning wanting to have a little fun, and begging that we go sledding or at least go have fun in the snow. So, Ray and I decided to let them do something that we have not ever let them do before. We let them jump on the snow covered trampoline. They had a blast, and were able to entertain themselves for quite a while. And once again I find myself grateful for the snow suits we got them for Christmas. They were able to stay warm the entire time they were out having snow much fun.
